Heptafluorobutyric acid(PFBA)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Perfluorobutyric acid, also known as heptafluorobutyric acid, is a colorless liquid at room temperature, smells like butyric acid, and is highly acidic. Perfluorobutyric acid is stable in nature and can undergo salt formation reactions, esterification reactions, substitution reactions, dehydration reactions and reduction reactions of alcoholic hydroxyl groups. Perfluorobutyric acid can be regarded as a product in which all hydrogen atoms in the butyric acid molecule are replaced by fluorine atoms. Industrially, perfluorobutyric acid is prepared by electrochemical fluorination, using butyryl chloride as the starting material, and without Water hydrogen fluoride undergoes electrolytic fluorination reaction, and the anode product is neutralized and acidified to obtain the product.
