Hydrogen fluoride up
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Hydrofluoric acid is an aqueous solution of hydrogen fluoride gas. It is a clear, colorless, fuming, corrosive liquid with a strong pungent odor. Hydrofluoric acid is a weak acid that is extremely corrosive and can strongly corrode metals, glass, and silicon-containing objects. Inhaling the vapor or contacting the skin can cause difficult-to-heal burns. In laboratories, fluorite (the main component is calcium fluoride) and concentrated sulfuric acid are generally used to prepare it. It needs to be sealed in a plastic bottle and stored in a cool place.

USE
2. The semiconductor industry uses it to remove oxides from the surface of silicon.
3. In refineries, it can be used as a catalyst for the alkylation reaction of isobutane and n-butene. Hydrofluoric acid is also used in the "pickling" process to remove oxygen-containing impurities from the surface of stainless steel.
4. Can be used to remove the glass coating on the surface of microwires.
5. It is used for cleaning and corrosion of integrated circuit (IC) and very large scale integrated circuit (VLSI) chips. It is one of the key basic chemical materials in the production process of microelectronics industry. It can also be used as an analytical reagent and for the preparation of high-purity fluorine-containing chemicals.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
1. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse.
2. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 30℃ and the relative humidity should not exceed 85%.
3. Keep the container sealed.
4. It should be stored separately from alkalis, active metal powders and glass products. Do not mix them.
5. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate containment materials.
PACKAGE
2. Other forms of packaging can be provided according to customer needs.
CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
2. Hydrofluoric acid can dissolve glass (main component: silicon dioxide) that many other acids cannot dissolve, generating gaseous silicon tetrafluoride.
3. When the concentration is low, it has weak acidity due to the formation of hydrogen bonds, but when it is concentrated (above 5 mol/L), self-ionization will occur, and hydrofluoric acid is now a very strong acid.
