XENON DIFLUORIDUM (F2Xe)
BREVIS DESCRIPTIO
Xenon difluoridum (XeF₂), etiam xenon difluoridum appellatum, est solidum incolorum quod facile sublimatur temperatura ambiente ad crystallos pellucidos formandos. Xenon difluoridum in solutionibus neutris vel alcalinis putrescit et in solutionibus acidis relative stabile est. Solutio aquosa odorem acrem habet. Vapor xenon difluoridi incolor est et odorem gravem habet. In industria electronica, XeF₂ saepe ut gas corrosionis silicii adhibetur. Cum reactio chemica inter XeF₂ et silicium sit reactio spontanea, XeF₂ selectivitatem altissimam ad processum corrosionis silicii habet. Durante processu corrosionis silicii per XeF₂, gas XeF₂ libere ad superficiem substrati silicii diffundendo et chemicaliter cum atomis silicii extremis reagendo ad Xe gasosum et SiF₃ gasosum generandos, corrosio silicii efficitur.
