Lanthanum fluoride
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Lanthanum fluoride, with the chemical formula LaF3, is an inorganic compound composed of lanthanum and fluorine. It is a white crystalline substance that exists in nature as an independent mineral. At room temperature, lanthanum fluoride is insoluble in water, difficult to dissolve in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid, but soluble in perchloric acid. Lanthanum fluoride is hygroscopic in the air.
