Foreign trade import and export data from January to February 2025

China's fluorine chemical production accounts for 70% of the world's total, refrigerants account for 80% of the world's total, and fluorine-containing polymers account for 60% of the world's total. Currently, fluorine chemical products are mainly net exports. Looking back at the import and export data from January to February 2025, the import volume of fluorite powder continued to increase year-on-year, mainly due to the increase in imports from Mongolia. In terms of exports, the export volume of refrigerants declined significantly in January and February, but the export price rose sharply. The implementation of high-priced orders became the biggest highlight of the beginning of the year. It is understood that the decline in exports was mainly due to the re-sorting of customs codes in January, requiring all companies to resubmit information, resulting in extremely low shipments in January; it began to gradually recover in February, and foreign trade merchants and overseas customers faced a sharp rise in off-season prices that violated conventions, and they waited and watched to receive goods with many concerns. However, as the off-season recedes and enters the peak season, and prices continue to rise and inventory is limited, foreign trade exports will return to normal. Imports of polytetrafluoroethylene and other fluorine-containing polymers have shown an upward trend year-on-year.

Specifically, based on the data of fluorite, hydrogen fluoride, aluminum fluoride , polytetrafluoroethylene, and other fluorine-containing polymers :

Fluorite

From January to February 2025, China's fluorite (≤97% content) exports were 35,800 tons, down 19.1 % year-on-year; fluorite (＞97% content) exports were 65,900 tons, down 35.0% year-on-year . Imports continued to hit a record high, with customs statistics totaling 329,900 tons, up 77.17% year-on-year . From a country-by-country perspective, the main source of goods came from Mongolia, with an import volume of 274,600 tons, accounting for 86.9%, mainly low-grade block ore.

Raw materials

From January to February 2025, China exported 39,400 tons of hydrogen fluoride, up 6.7% year-on-year ; and 18,900 tons of aluminum fluoride, up 35.4% year-on-year . The import volume is small, and exports are the main focus. Looking at the data from February alone, aluminum fluoride exports decreased by 37.0% month-on-month , and hydrogen fluoride decreased by 27.3% month-on-month.

Fluoropolymers:

From January to February 2025, the export volume of primary form polytetrafluoroethylene was 6,300 tons, up 15.2% year-on-year , and the export volume of other fluoropolymers was 4,900 tons, up 3.7% year-on-year . Looking at the data for February alone, the export volume of primary form polytetrafluoroethylene decreased by 12.1% month-on-month , and the export volume of other fluoropolymers decreased by 4% month-on-month.
