    BRIEF DESCRIPTION

    Propynol is an organic compound, a colorless, transparent liquid with a pungent odor. Relative density 0.9485 (20°C), melting point -58°C, boiling point 112.3°C, refractive index 1.429-1.431 (20°C), flash point 36°C. Soluble in water, benzene, chloroform, dichloroethane, ethanol, ether, acetone, dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, pyridine, slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride, insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons.

    USE

    1. It is widely used in the production of medicines (sulfonamides, fosfomycin sodium, etc.) and pesticides (propibentil).
    2. In the petroleum industry, it can be made into corrosion inhibitors for drill pipes and oil pipes.
    3. As an additive in the steel industry, it can prevent hydrogen embrittlement of steel.
    4. It can be made into brightener in electroplating industry.
    5. Used as rust remover, chemical intermediate, corrosion inhibitor, solvent, stabilizer, etc.
    6. It can be used as an organic synthesis intermediate, solvent, and stabilizer for chlorinated hydrocarbons.

    STORAGE CONDITIONS

    1. Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse.
    2. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C. 2-8°C is best.
    3. Store in sealed containers separately from oxidants, acids, alkalis, and edible chemicals. Do not mix them.
    4. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. It is prohibited to use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks.
    5. It is not suitable to store in large quantities or for long periods of time. For short-term storage and transportation, clean and rust-free steel containers can be used. For long-term storage, stainless steel, glass or phenolic resin lined containers are suitable, and aluminum and other materials should be avoided. Storage and transportation should be carried out in accordance with the regulations for flammable chemicals.

    - High concentrations of propargyl alcohol have a strong irritating effect on the eyes, skin, mucous membranes and respiratory tract. Symptoms of poisoning include burning sensation, coughing, wheezing, laryngitis, shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting. Severe cases may be fatal. This product is flammable, highly toxic and highly irritating. Its vapor can form an explosive mixture with air, and can cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open flames and high heat. It can react with oxidants. It emits pungent smoke when heated. It reacts with oxidants and phosphorus pentoxide. It is easy to self-polymerize, and the polymerization reaction intensifies rapidly as the temperature rises. Its vapor is heavier than air and can spread to a considerable distance at a lower level. It will catch fire and burn back when it encounters a fire source. If it encounters high heat, the internal pressure of the container will increase, and there is a risk of cracking and explosion.
