Sulfur hexafluoride
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Sulfur hexafluoride is an inorganic compound. It is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic and non-flammable stable gas under normal temperature and pressure. Its density is 6.0886kg/m3 at 20℃ and 0.1 MPa, which is about 5 times the density of air. Six The molecular structure of sulfur fluoride is arranged in an octahedron, with small bonding distance and high bonding energy, so it has high stability. When the temperature does not exceed 180°C, its compatibility with electrical structural materials is similar to that of nitrogen.

Purpose (USE)
1. A new generation of ultra-high voltage insulating dielectric materials. As a good gas insulator, it is widely used in gas insulation of electronic and electrical equipment. Electronic-grade high-purity sulfur hexafluoride is an ideal electronic etchant and is widely used in the field of microelectronics technology. It is used as a plasma etching and cleaning agent in the manufacturing of large integrated circuits such as computer chips and LCD screens. It is used as a fluorine source for the production of fluorine-doped glass in optical fiber preparation and as a dopant for the isolation layer in the manufacture of low-loss high-quality single-mode optical fiber. It can also be used as a doping gas for nitrogen excimer lasers. Used as tracer, standard gas or preparation of standard mixed gas in meteorology, environmental testing and other departments. Used in high-voltage switches as arc extinguishing and insulation materials for large-capacity transformers. It can also be used in particle accelerators and lightning arresters. Taking advantage of its good chemical stability and non-corrosion to equipment, it can be used as a refrigerant in the refrigeration industry (operating temperature between -45~0℃). It is also used in radiochemistry due to its high ability to stop alpha particles. It also serves as a counter-adsorbent to displace oxygen from mine dust.
2. It can be used in the smelting and casting process of non-ferrous metals, and can also be used in the degassing and purification of aluminum and its alloy melts. In the microelectronics industry, sulfur hexafluoride can be used to etch silicon surfaces and remove organic or inorganic films on semiconductor materials, and can be used as a single-film optical fiber isolation layer dopant in the manufacturing process of optical fibers. Current interrupters containing sulfur hexafluoride have a high rated voltage and are not easy to burn. In addition, sulfur hexafluoride is also used as an insulating medium for various accelerators, ultra-high voltage accumulators, coaxial cables and microwave transmission. Sulfur hexafluoride is a widely used tracer for measuring air pollution, with a tracing distance of up to 100km. Sulfur hexafluoride has good chemical stability and does not corrode equipment. It can be used as a refrigerant in the refrigeration industry (operating temperature is between -45 and 0°C) to replace Freon. It has no destructive effect on the ozone layer and is environmentally friendly. and performance requirements, it is a refrigerant with great potential for development. It is used as electrical insulation medium and arc extinguishing agent, and as a tracer to measure the degree of air pollution.
3. Mainly used for arc extinguishing in high-voltage switches and used as insulating materials in large-capacity transformers and high-voltage cables. It can be used as gas insulating material in nuclear particle accelerators and lightning arrester X-ray equipment. SF6 has good chemical stability and does not corrode equipment. It can be used as a refrigerant in the refrigeration industry (operating temperature is between -45~0℃). SF6 has a high ability to stop α-particles, so it is also used in radiochemistry; it can also be used as a counter-adsorbent to displace oxygen from mine coal dust.
4. Used as gas insulator for electronic equipment and radar waveguides.
