Trifluoromethyl iodide(CF3I)/CAS:2314-97-8
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Trifluoroiodomethane (CF3I) has a boiling point of -22.5°C and a critical pressure of 3.95MPa. It is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable and low-toxic gas under standard atmospheric pressure. It is a liquefied gas at room temperature. Mainly used as low-temperature refrigerant, fire extinguishing agent and raw material for manufacturing tetrafluoroethylene.
Trifluoroiodomethane CF3I is a new environmentally friendly insulating gas that replaces SF. Used in the power industry. It has good environmental characteristics and its insulation strength is better than SF6. The breakdown and decomposition of CF3I will not produce toxic products and will not have a negative impact on the insulation strength under certain conditions.

USE
1. As a fire extinguishing agent, CF3I has the characteristics of high fire extinguishing efficiency, good safety performance, high economic effectiveness, and leaves no trace after fire extinguishing. It is the preferred alternative to trifluoromethane (halon 1301).
2. As a refrigerant, CF3I is non-flammable, has oil solubility and good material compatibility. It is considered to be one of the ideal substitutes for traditional Freon refrigerant components.
3. CF3I also has broad application prospects in other fields such as fluorine-containing intermediates, semiconductor etching, foaming agents, etc.
4. After liquefaction, trifluoroiodomethane gas has a good dissolving effect on various oil stains. As a cleaning agent for precision instruments, it can thoroughly clean oil stains without adding surfactants or other additives. The cleaning process is a purely physical process, and the cleaning gas It is easy to separate from oil pollution, and the separated gas can be recycled without causing secondary pollution.
5. Application Pharmaceutical grade trifluoroiodomethane is widely used in the preparation of anti-cancer drugs (ABT263, ABT737), superhydrophobic self-cleaning materials, liquid crystal materials, etc.
6. Reagents for rhodium-catalyzed α-trifluoromethylation of α,-unsaturated ketones.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
1. Trifluoromethane products should be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Exposure to the sun is strictly prohibited and away from heat sources.
2. Use cylinders with internal surface treatment for storage
3. The bottle mouth should be prevented from being contaminated and leaking.
PACKAGE
1. Cylinder packaging (1L/4L/40L/47L/100L)
2. Other forms of packaging according to customer needs

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
1. Trifluoromethane is a suffocating, colorless and odorless gas at normal temperature and pressure, and does not burn in the air. Contact can cause headaches, nausea and vomiting, and has anesthetic effects.
2. When trifluoromethane comes into contact with high-temperature surfaces or flames, it decomposes to generate extremely corrosive and toxic hydrogen fluoride smoke.
3. Contact with trifluoromethane gas may cause arrhythmia and suffocation. Inhalation of vapors may cause central nervous system depression. Liquid splashed onto skin can cause cold burns.
