CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
1. The main uses of FEP are for making linings of pipes and chemical equipment, surface layers of drums, and various wires and cables, such as aircraft hook lines, booster cables, alarm cables, flat cables and oil well logging cables.
2. FEP Polyperfluoroethylene Propylene (FEP) or F46 is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene. The content of hexafluoropropylene is about 15%. It is a modified material of polytetrafluoroethylene.
3. FEP has a crystal melting point of 580F and a density of 2.15g/CC (grams/cubic centimeter). It is a soft plastic whose tensile strength, toughness and creep resistance are lower than many engineering plastics. The material does not ignite and prevents the spread of flames. It has excellent weather resistance, low friction coefficient, and can be used from low temperature to 392F. The material can be produced as granular products for extrusion and molding, as a powder for fluidized bed and electrostatic coating, or as an aqueous dispersion. Semi-finished products include films, plates, rods and single fibers.
4. The various properties of polyperfluoroethylene-propylene copolymer-FEP copolymer are similar to PTFE, but the heat resistance is slightly lower. It can work at -85 degrees + 205 degrees for a long time and -200 degrees ~ +300 degrees for a short period of time. ; High impact strength, creep resistance, and low-temperature flexibility are better than PTEE; crystallinity varies with heat treatment temperature, good molding processability, non-stickiness, electrical insulation, and chemical stability are comparable to PTEE; it can be colored and scrap materials can be Recycle and reuse.
5. The molding process of FEP can be molding, transmission molding, injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, machining, spraying, and dispersion can be impregnated, coated, brushed, heat sealed, and bonded.
